Day 9 was back to Fairbanks, 505 miles of rough crushed rock on the Dalton haul road. We arrived at Fairbanks at about 10:30pm and decided to spend the next 2 days touring the area and taking a paddle-wheel boat trip on the Tanana River. Day 10 (travel days) over the 'top of the world' highway to Dawson City on the confluence of the Yukon and Klondike Rivers. 388 miles of gravel road, and a ferry boat crossing of the Yukon. Day 11 took us along the Yukon river back to the Alaska Highway at Whitehorse, then to Cassiar Pass on the Cassiar highway. 675 miles of paved/gravel. Day 12 was down the Cassiar highway to Prince George with a side trip to Stewart , the northern-most sea port in Canada.(on the Pacific Ocean) 753 miles, the Cassiar was all gravel, and highway 16 from Prince Rupert to Prince George was paved highway. Day 13 took us through the Jasper and Banff National Parks to Radium Hot Springs. 455 miles of highway with heavy traffic through the parks. Day 14 found us almost home, just south of Pocatello, ID 831 miles. Good highway to Coeur d'Alene and freeway the rest of the way. Day 15 took us home to Grand Junction, 400 miles of freeway. 4,007 miles back for a total of 8,547 miles in 15 days. An awesome 2 week trip.
